SAGE Fall Coalition Meeting Oct 31 - Nov 3, 2013 at UNC-Chapel Hill
Every fall SAGE Coalition members meet at the campus of a member institution to discuss our White Paper topics for the spring Day on the Hill and any new advocacy issues that affect graduate students. The 2013 SAGE Fall Coalition meeting will be held at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from Thursday October 31st to Sunday November 3rd.
One of the main highlights of this year's meeting will be the SAGE Graduate Education Summit on Friday November 1st from 3-5pm in the Sonja Stone Theatre at UNC-CH. This event will be open to the entire UNC community and members of the UNC Board of Trustees and Board of Governors. There will be two panel sessions:
The Role of Public Universities and the State—How
do public universities and the state’s policies tie together and affect
economic growth? How can we utilize that to improve economic growth within our
The Federal Government and Higher Education—What is
the outlook for graduate education on a national level? How can we utilize
graduate education to grow the US economy?

Each year, SAGE organizes a Conference at Washington, D.C. to advocate our legislative priorities to our federal legislators. March 2011 & 2012 conferences included a three day meeting and lobby and issue training workshop prior to meeting with legislators. We are looking forward to our 2013 meeting!
